Animal well-being is a duty

Checking good farming practices, adapting installations to meet the animals’ needs, carrying out audits to ensure that regulations are respected relative to animal protection…. At Elivia, animal well-being is more than a regulatory obligation: we consider it to be one of the bases of our quality procedure.

Ensuring more serenity
Elivia applies very strict rules to preserve the animals’ serenity during transport and arrival at the slaughterhouse, until they are rendered unconscious (consciousness and reflex movements are tested).

Veterinary surgeons guarantee animal protection
At each of our sites, "animal protection" baselines are installed. Elivia uses its own vets and livestock technicians. They offer farmers assistance in managing their unit, constructing appropriate buildings and quality as well as in ensuring the herds’ health.
